Vorig jaar viel Poetin op 24 februari Oekraïne binnen.

24 februari is ook mijn verjaardag en dit jaar word ik 60, een goede reden om iets bijzonders te doen.

Ik wil graag CargoCult in Kyiv ondersteunen. CargoCult is een lokale fietskoeriersdienst die in Kyiv voedsel, medicijnen en allerlei hulpmiddelen per bakfiets bezorgt. Zij laten zien hoe je met relatief weinig middelen een enorme impact kunt hebben op de levens van veel mensen die nu in een oorlogssituatie leven. Maar ze willen ook na de oorlog doorgaan met de bezorging per bakfiets, om een duurzaam en gezond alternatief te bieden voor vervuilende stadslogistiek met dieselbusjes en vrachtwagens. Vanuit het International Cargo Bike Festival hebben we al eerder een crowdfundingsactie ondersteund van CargoCult, waardoor ze een extra bakfiets hebben kunnen laten maken.

I would like to support CargoCult in Kyiv. CargoCult is a local bicycle courier service that delivers food, medicine and all kinds of resources by cargo bike in Kyiv. They show how with relatively few resources you can have a huge impact on the lives of many people currently living in a war situation. But they want to continue delivery by cargo bike even after the war, to provide a sustainable and healthy alternative to polluting urban logistics with diesel vans and trucks. We at the International Cargo Bike Festival have previously supported a crowdfunding campaign by CargoCult, which enabled them to get an additional cargo bike built.
